Forgive Durden - “The Missing Piece” (feat. Lizzie Huffman)

Out of context, the songs on Forgive Durden’s latest work (a musical) don’t lyrically make a ton of sense on their own, but it doesn’t mean the songs still aren’t gorgeous.  I’ve actually had trouble listening to this album lately because it’s such a dramatic and heavy listen that it actually saddens me a little each time I listen to it.  Thomas Dutton just knows how to pull at your heartstrings, man.

Anyway, this track features Lizzie Huffman, sister of Kirk Huffman from Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground (see that previous post!) and Gatsby’s American Dream.  Her voice has a delicate confidence, and projects a really convincing emotional vibrato to it.  I’m definitely going to be watching out for the Man in the Blue Van album.
