Oasis - “The Shock of the Lightning”

Oasis’ new album comes out next week, I believe.  This is their newest single.  It’s super infectious and has a real raw sound to it.  The guitars have a great crunch to them and I’m pretty sure this is one of their most energetic songs, as it’s just constantly moving and never lets up (even though the guitar part is basically one or two chords).

Liam’s voice is still one of my favorite’s in rock, with his snarl and energy very much completely intact through years of abuse (both vocally and through all those drugs and alcohol, heh).  The usual Beatles allusions are here as well, such as “Love is a litany, a magical mystery,” and it’s still kind of funny to me that they do that; I’m pretty sure I recall when I was younger hearing them say they were better than the Beatles.  I dunno.

Anyway, this track rules, and I’m sure the album will be awesome as well.
