Sting - “Englishman in New York”

I always thought Sting’s best solo work was when he was experimenting with jazz sounds. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Brand New Day, and his stuff from the 90s still gets lodged in my brain every now and again, but this track is from an album that I’ve been listening to since I was about 2 or 3.  Can’t really argue with that, can I?  Anyway, this song is just a fantastic pop song in every regard.  It’s so good that its remix charted again in dance clubs a while after its release.  It’s also a nice “walking in gloomy weather in the city” song, so I figured given the state of the weather, it’s a good way to start out the week.  Yessss.
