I always thought that life would get a little less crazy when I graduated from college. However, I find myself super busy with something almost every day.
I think part of it has to do with the fact that I’m the lead guy (or at least, kinda-sorta supposed to be, I just do vocals) in two bands. Venice Sunlight has a handful of shows coming up, and Warren is knee-deep in recording. These things in and of themselves are pretty hectic, when I’m not working.
So let’s break this down; really, my life consists of the following:
- Working
- 45 hours a week, huzzah corporate life! (I kid, it’s not bad at all.)
- Warren
- Writing/practicing/recording/performing
- Keeping people updated on goings-on
- Venice Sunlight
- Writing/practicing (it’s a pain sometimes to get to Jersey)
- Helping out with booking shows in Philly
- Fraternity stuff; I try and stay as active as an alumni as I can.
- Trips to the bar
- This occurs probably more than it should…
- Parties
- I usually play DJ at the shindigs I attend, if only for a little bit. Again, this occurs probably more than it should.
I’m not even including all the other stuff like the recent insanity involving various media outlets. I’m doing my best not to comment on it here, but believe me, it took up a lot of time for a stretch there. Thankfully it’s starting to wane a bit.
This might come off as a bit whiny, but really it’s just me trying to itemize the chaos that’s kind of inhabiting my life right now. I always tell people: “It’s like I never left college, except now I go to work and get paid instead of going to class.” I mean, seriously: take out “working,” and what do we have? College life. Ridiculous.
Anyway, if these posts seem to lack substance, that’s probably why — I’m usually involved in something.
Speaking of which, time to go out and run errands all day, head out to the hookah lounge by my place with Ed, Leann and Dana, and continue onward to my friends’ 22nd birthday outing at several bars. Then, recording Sunday.
College life. Ridiculous.
