Too much going on lately.
- Work: Absolutely drives me nuts in the best way possible. It’s nerve-wracking but rewarding. Never before have I been employed somewhere that really encourages and pushes me; the job really does MAKE me want to learn more and be better at my position. I’m gonna run things someday, mark my words.
- Music: The VS is doing awesomely, despite losing our great friend, rhythm guitarist and compatriot Scott Charles to the great state of Colorado. We still turn heads wherever we play, even as a four-piece. The other band I keep trying to start keeps getting pushed back, but I really hope we can get it moving. I’m also DJ-ing a lot under the super tutelage of my good buddy Esteban. It’s tight.
- Random Musings: I’m still writing for Fantastic Weapon whenever I get a free moment to breathe. Also watching Star Trek: TOS religiously. Not eating as much, but eating better. Allowing myself to think and feel a lot more than I used to… I mean, fuck it, I’m allowed to reflect a little bit every now and then, too, right? Truth be told, I’ve even been caring less about people not liking me than I used to; my line of thinking nowadays is, if someone’s going to hate you, if it makes them feel better, more power to them. Be secure in who you are and what you stand for. People will see whatever discolorations of the truth they want to see, and if you beg for positive attention, you’ll only be condescended to. Strength in self-confidence, people. That’s what’s needed.
I’m sure there’s more to say, but I do my best to keep any Livejournal-esque entries at a minimum, here. Seriously now: let’s get back to the good stuff, shall we?
